“Nothing is so powerful as an idea whose time has come”
Thomas Paine 1937-1809
Being independent is not about having no values, or worse still making them up as you go along. For us it is about holding good old municipal values in a modern day setting. It is less about us and more about Helping people and giving them help to improve their community giving them a hand up and a help out when they need it. Supporting people like us who live in Northampton and want to improve our own lives and also ensure that their neighbourhood is safe and clean.

During all elections the other Party’s will wax lyrical about their policy’s, local and national. They will also waste their energy and your time griping about each other and spreading lies. We will leave that to them. We would better fare hard with good men and women in our town than feast it with bad. Our message is about you not them. Our priority is winning for Northampton, not squabbling as to whose party is best.
Even since winning seats in the May 2007 Borough Council Elections the squabbling has not stopped as each of the three main party’s seek to score cheap political points from each other at a time when they should be concentrating on repairing the damage done to our town and it’s reputation
Our message to them all when they call at your door is loud and clear
DON’T BOTHER KNOCKING, YOUR PARTY IS SHOCKING.
PRO COMMUNITY POLICING
Backing our Community Safety Team
PRO REGENERATION
For Castle Ward, the Town Centre and Sixfields
PRO SOCIAL HOUSING

PRO PENSIONERS RIGHTS

PRO EQUALITY
Tackling discrimination head on
PRO PUBLIC SECTOR WORKERS
Supporting them and the services they deliver
PRO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
A lot has been happening since the voters of Castle Ward returned Tony Clarke to the Guildhall in May of 2007.
A new wave of optimism has swept across not only Castle Ward but across the whole town as people far and wide from all sides of the old political divides have contacted us to say:
“Congratulations it’s about time someone spoke up for the town”
Offers of support both physical and financial have been forthcoming and requests from other parts of the town for candidates to stand in future elections under the banner of “Northampton Independent Voice” have been received.
We are not surprised. As the capers and chaos at our Town Hall continue, this time under a yellow hue instead of blue, the calls for common sense and an end to partisan politics have grown ever stronger.
So much so that we have now decided to try to formalise what we began here in Castle Ward just a short time ago.
And so a new “collective” is to be formed. We may register as a political party with the electoral commission so we can use the words “Northampton Independent Voice” and seperate ourselves from anyone who wishes to abuse the term “independent” but we prefer to use the word “collective” because what we want is to form is a grouping of individual voices standing in their own right who will agree to a set of core values and principles (such as equality) but who are not constrained by any party whip.
The only people we will listen to is “you” the electorate.
